AMAZON STUDIOS TETHERED TO TRAVIS BETZ

The streamer is teaming with filmmakers Travis Betz and Kevin Hamedani, as well as actor-producer Daniel Dae Kim to develop Tether, a genre-bending take on the classic ghost story.

Betz and Hamedani are set to pen the script and will serve as showrunners and exec producers on Tether, which is currently in development as a potential TV series for Amazon. Kim will exec produce alongside his 3AD banner head of development John Cheng. The company’s Tara Bohn will also exec produce. This is 3AD’s first project to stem from the first-look deal Kim signed with Amazon Studios.

DrexelBox co-founder Travis Betz has signed on with Universal Pictures and Mandeville Films to adapt the hit young-adult novel, DARIUS THE GREAT IS NOT OKAY – written by Adib Khorram, 2018 Penguin Books. The Seasonal Sounds of MURDER!

Travis Betz’s original story, Carol’s Carols, has been bought by SHUDDER (AMC’s horror streaming service) for development as a narrative eight-episode podcast. Betz will write, direct, and produce the show about a choir of Christmas carolers who are broadcasting over a small town’s public radio airwaves on Christmas eve when things turn dark—the town suddenly erupting into a series of cult-like murders.

Carol’s Carols is an unraveling auditory mystery that will make you rethink your love of Christmas music.
